The jury found that the police officers involved failed to provide the necessary medical treatment and awarded $17.5 million to Mr. Vargas.
Patty Quigley began her professional journey in social work, earning her Bachelor of Science from Queen College and a Master of Social Work from New York University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1990 and later earned her law degree in 1997, graduating with distinction. Her transition into law was driven by a desire to better serve her community and provide more meaningful support to those she worked with.
After working as a general legal counsel for the U.S. Department of Treasury, Patty opened her own practice in 1999, focusing on real estate and estate planning. She ran a successful solo practice for 27 years and also served as a Town Judge for the Town of Shelter Island.
Patty takes pride in serving her community and supporting families with their legal needs. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, boating, reading, and spending time with her family and dogs.
