Mariel Crippen

Mariel Crippen is a personal injury lawyer at Harris Keenan & Goldfarb. She started working at the firm in March 2021. After graduating cum laude from American University in 2009, she attended law school at St. John’s University. She was an editor for the Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development. In 2012, she graduated cum laude.

Ms. Crippen decided she wanted to become an attorney when she was in elementary school. She believes personal injury work is a chance to help injured people and change their lives while holding others accountable for negligence.

At Harris Keenan & Goldfarb, Ms. Crippen obtained a multi-million-dollar verdict against New York City Housing Authority for a client. The verdict was more than ten times the settlement amount offered before trial, her most significant professional success thus far. She challenges herself every year, expands her abilities, and constantly learns new things.

Ms. Crippen is most proud of the results she has achieved for her clients that improved their lives and the lives of their families. Her verdict in Potter v. NYCHA was the “verdict of the week” in VerdictSearch New York and the eighth largest Bronx jury verdict it had reported for a case stemming from a trip and fall. Her verdict in Jody Fiorentino v. Zamborg was also published.

In her personal life, Ms. Crippen likes to watch moves, read books, and go to the gym and beach.
